2008 Rocket Day Guidelines- April 12, 2008
Fino Field Annex
1. Immediately on entering the designated rocket launch area of the
field, every scout/parent shall sign an attendance book.
2. Every person entering the designated rocket launch area places himself under full control of the Rocket Officer or his/her assistants, and must at all times comply with their directions and instruction.
3. Rockets ready to launch: No rocket will be launched until the parent/scout is in his/her place at the launching line with their rocket and the authorization has been given by the Rocket Officer. At all times, while ready to be launched and on the launch pad, the rocket shall be pointed in a safe upward direction.
4. Chasing down: There will be NO “chasing down” of rockets until all the rockets on the firing line have been launched. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
5. Misfiring: In the event a rocket does not launch after trying to ignite, the respective scout and/or parent shall raise his/her hand and notify the rocket officer. They will launch at the next available time.
6. Policing the launch area: It is the responsibility of all parents/scouts to clean up the launch area at the conclusion of the rocket day event. Should anyone leave early they are responsible for still cleaning their respective area. The Rocket Officer and/or assistants will supervise.
7. Violation of any procedures/protocols may be subject to immediate
removal from the launch area.
Remember, safety is paramount
to anything else going on during the launching of rockets!
